Review on Video card EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 1140Mhz PCI-E 3.0 6144Mb 7010Mhz 384 bit DVI HDMI HDCP HYBRID by Micha Niemczyk ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I can't stop being happy with the purchase, a very good deal!

. As a result, I am satisfied - it became quiet (if you do not twist the speed to the maximum). Well, if you want to play heavy games for a long time, then you can add speed. At the same time, the temperature does not rise in the case, the video card itself is simply warm to the touch. But from the case with a good load it blows like from an oven, and rightly so. And as the fps increased, it's just a song. . The old MSI GTX 580 Lightning got quite hot inside the case (when loaded for a long time), and that's even in a well-ventilated case. Now the case is cool even when playing on a hot day. I really liked the hybrid cooling and I recommend this copy to everyone :)

Pros
  • . Excellent model, fast, andcomld! And quiet (became after tuning, more on that below). Thecomre is 1354MHz (not 1140MHz), the memory is 3506MHz. . Pump - Asetek 740GN, quiet, in a ventilated case, standing on the table, I can't hear it. But we need to see if this changes over time. The reviews say that the MSI 980ti pump is noisier, especially in the high frequencies. The fan is Power Logic PLA12025S12M, I would advise you to replace it with Noctua NF-F12 industrial (2022 rpm), andcomnnect it not to thecomnnector from the video card, but through the reobas to regulate the speed yourself. The radiator should be placed above the level of the card, usually at the back at the top of the case. If you place it below the map, the pump starts to gurgle and make noise. . So, there are 2 fans on the card - a turbine on the card itself (it spins at 22% until t < 55°C, and the card rarely gets hotter), and a 120mm fan on the heatsink. I heard the new card right away, without load. Not exactly like the old gtx 580 under load, but still annoying (after all, myCosmos-S has holes on three sides, and it sits right on the table, so I immediately noticed the noise). At the same time, the feeling that the 120mm fan is spinning permanently at maximum speed did not leave. Foreign forums also report this problem - noise from the CBO fan, even without load. . The fan on the radiator (120mm) can be changed to any one, the wiringcoming from the radiator to the card is just a fan power supply, this wire is in no waycomnnected with the pump. The pump is located under the casing of the video card, and is powered there, under the casing. After unscrewing the standard fan, it turned out to be Power Logic PLA12025S12M (photo: . Jpg). I didn't like it, because. only two-wire (does not even know how to report its speed, not to mention PWM) and sleeve bearing (sliding bearing, does not live long and starts to rattle). True, it can start as much as 4-4.5 Volts, and surprisingly gives out good air pressure, so it will go for the first time.
Cons
  • . I don’t reduce the rating, since the ideal, as you know, is not achievable, and minor flaws can be corrected by yourself. . If the manufacturer would like to wish anything, it is to change the card settings so that it controls an external 120mm fan in a wider range (6-12V instead of the current 10.5-12V), and reduce the noise without load, but this it is easy to achieve it yourself (for example, through reobas, see above). And put a decent fan (dreams, dreams). . The voltmeter showed that the video card is still trying to control the voltage of the external fan, but in a surprisingly narrow range - if during a cold start (card t = 28 ° C) it outputs 8.2V, then when working even without load, the voltage is fast reaches and keeps in the region of 9-10V, and after the load, it no longer drops below 10.5-11V. Those. the regular fan, initially being noisy, also works all the time at speeds close to the maximum. . I changed it to Noctua NF-P12 - I can't hear it (up to 1050 rpm), but it turned out to be rather weak (static pressure is only 1.68 mm H2O). I will change to Noctua NF-F12 industrial (3.91 mm, fan-beast, there will be a power reserve) or Noctua NF-F12 (2.61 mm), and adjust the speed with reobas (other options are to regulate the graphics card itself, but you need to change (how? ) its threshold settings, or an advanced motherboard using a thermal sensor attached to the video card. Another great option is to replace the standard fan with PWM (4-wire), climb under the casing, turn off the standard turbine, and connect it and an external fan through Y -splitter to the turbine connector. In short, there is room for experimentation for perfectionists). So far, I returned the stock fan, just installed it through a silicone gasket between it and the heatsink, and screwed the heatsink to the case using the HDD mounting kit - through rubber washers to reduce the transmission of vibration to the case. But the washers are on the outside of the case so that the radiator fits snugly against the metal of the case, IMHO, so the heat will be removed even better.
