Review on 🍽️ EatSmart ESKS-01 Precision Pro Silver Digital Kitchen Scale - Accurate and Reliable Measurement by Amy Dockery

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Instead, I chose the EatSmart Precision Elite digital kitchen scale.

EatSmart makes great scales. I have had the EatSmart Precision Plus digital bathroom scale for two years now and it is the most amazing bathroom scale I have ever seen. Super accurate and super thin. It sits next to the door in my bathroom and the door just opens right above it even if I don't touch it. Wonderful. So when I was looking for a new kitchen scale with a heavier maximum weight than the 5lb scale I currently own, I was thrilled to learn that EatSmart have made several of these scales. I first bought this scale, the EatSmart Precision Pro Digital Kitchen Scale, for $25. This is a great little scale with high accuracy and a good 11lb max weight. I had a few issues with the dial design, which led me to choose a different one. 1) The problem with the Pro is that it's so small that the plate almost completely covers the numbers. Anything larger makes it impossible to display the numbers. I had to tar the bowl on the platform and then balance the large pot on the bowl to weigh it. It drove me crazy the first day. 2) The screen and buttons are not very narrow. If you spill something on it, food or liquid will get stuck in the crevices and I suspect this will cause problems in the long run. 3) Half of the words on one of the buttons have been deleted in a few days. No harsh chemicals or anything, just a swipe and I noticed the words were gone. I'm sure I could replace it, but I decided to try other scales from the same manufacturer. So I decided to try the $40 EatSmart Precision Elite digital kitchen scale. Now it's the best of both worlds. Excellent accuracy, even higher max weight, easy to read display, looks great on the counter and a much larger platform. You can put anything on it and see the numbers intelligently. I could put a giant 15 inch frying pan on it and push it back a bit and still be able to read the numbers easily. A dinner plate or a large saucepan do not even come close to covering the display. In addition, the buttons and the screen are sealed, which I think will contribute to a longer lifespan. This is the perfect scale and is easily worth the extra $15. In short, EatSmart makes great scales at a reasonable price. In my experience they last a long time and I have read over and over again that their customer service is top notch. Thankfully I can't comment on that as I've never had a problem with an EatSmart product in the 2+ years that I've owned it. For those who want small scale, the Pro is great, but I prefer the Elite.
