Good hardware, unstable firmware. The product is not certified by Verizon, so you must first initialize the SIM card with the Verizon Jetpack. It's ok if you already have a jetpack, just pop in your SIM card and away you go. I tried this device after using the MOFI4500-4GXELTE-SIM4_COMBO ($329 from Revain) hoping to find a cheaper solution for our field workers. You install a working SIM card, the device gets up and running without any additional programming. But the firmware is very basic (some of it is in Chinese, some of the menus didn't work at all). Good qualities: - Good price - Reliable hardware - Easy to install and operate - Good Wi-Fi signal Cons: - Minimal firmware configuration choices - Firmware is not fully translated into English - 4G signal dropped out quite often - Can do not block certain 4G LTE bands Conclusion: If you only need access for checking email, web surfing or Facebook, this might be a good choice over satellite (Verizon is currently offering 30GB for $65 upfront ), but you need a Jetpack in your account to initialize the SIM card.
