I feel cheated! for cats

My cat doesn't take peas very well, I'll get to another story so when I saw this food in a bag of chickpeas I thought it was worth a try. She's not very picky, so she really enjoyed it, but that was only half the story. She was fine for a day or two, then it started to itch. I googled "chickpeas and peas in cat food" and found all the information. First, cats CANNOT digest peas or other legumes, so this is just a filler in this food. Second, not only is it not good for them, but it causes all sorts of problems that actually lead to allergies and increased intestinal leaks. We had 3 rescued cats a few years ago and Instinct was their main diet. Two out of three developed pancreatitis and after battling their severe pain for several months, we lost them. I am convinced that this meal was the culprit after reading what I did online today. However, pet food companies continue to add legumes to their diets, and people who love their pets are willing to pay for these 'best' grain-free products. Very sad. I will never use this food again unless they stop adding all the fillers and even then I'm not sure. Anyhow, if you want to know anything about your pet's diet, peas or legumes, just do a google search and you can find out about the sad state of the pet food industry in our country. Then you can make an informed decision to do what is best for your furry baby.
