Just delivered today and it looks like another marvel of CNC milling technology that makes something this cheap and well made. The fit and finish is excellent, it connects easily, fits my USB microscope perfectly and securely, and has a smooth ride that allows me to focus at close range. The microscope was more of an oddity than a useful tool due to the poor stability of the included tripod. This allows you to adjust lighting, magnification, and focus without disturbing the object being examined. I bought a USB microscope with the idea of using it as a soldering aid, but that was false hope due to instability. I was able to "try on" the tripod, but it was shaky and difficult to focus. A few years later I tried examining the stylus tip of my stereo cartridge and seemed to be successful. improved my sound a bit. Haven't gotten back to it yet, but the vastly improved stability promises to be a big help. The only "minus" I see is a little play in the focus gear on the rail. If not, it would be ideal, but it doesn't cause crosshair movement, so it doesn't matter.
