I have Even Stephen Odd! as a gift for my grandson (8) and we had a blast playing with him and his sister (11) this weekend. I'm now buying a second set to keep at home as I'm sure the rest of the family will love it too, even my 85 year old mother. The rounds go by very quickly, and in the end we decided it was best to start each round with everyone understanding the map before we rolled the dice. When the screams, yelps, and screams got too loud, the kids suggested playing a few rounds silently (except for the sound of bones being thrown, of course). It was difficult, but that didn't spoil our joy of playing!
