Both the Mardel and Jungle brands sold in pet stores are far inferior to the older brand test strips previously sold by Petco stores. This product, discontinued three years ago, offered clear visual contrasts in color and intensity for the different 6 factors tested. In fact, 5 out of 6 tests with these Mardel strips are quite satisfactory. The killer has the most important "Ph" test. Even a slight color change can indicate a large change in acidity.
