Review on 🌱 Mold Star 15 Silicone Rubber for Slow Moldmaking - Trial Unit by Kristen Reid

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy and fun!

I want to start by saying I didn't have enough to fully cover my sculpture. Mixing the two parts was very easy. I secured my sculpture in the box and slowly poured it to the side and then realized I didn't have enough product so I took out my sculpture with my bare hands and put it in another container and poured the silicone mixture into the new container, to make a bit of a mess of myself that was surprisingly easy to clean up. I saw tons of air bubbles and thought my design was lost, but I let it dry for three hours and slowly began carving my sculpture out of the excess molding material that got underneath when transferring to a new container. And the shape came out perfect, there were no air bubbles, the detail was great, it was flexible enough to release my sculpture. I am very impressed for the dirty work done! I would recommend purchasing an additional set in case you need more!

Pros
  • Vacuum Degassing - While not required, vacuum degassing helps eliminate trapped air in the liquid silicone rubber
Cons
  • No Instructions
