I use it all the time on my 2009 Nissan Frontier. I bought it right after buying this truck [a few months ago] because it doesn't have an ashtray. I've left the lid open overnight at work or at home with the lights on. The light was still on without the charging cable connected. When I left the charging cable plugged in overnight, it didn't pull the battery out. I don't know how long the light will last without the cord connected because mine never went out. I went a few weeks without connecting a cable. I also use it when visiting relatives who don't smoke. I take it outside and when I'm done I stick a cigarette butt in it [without leaving it with relatives in the yard]. One of my best purchases.
