If you are purchasing this filter, do yourself a favor and save the sealing o-ring from the one you are replacing. I don't have a solid gasket, but a profiled one, meaning it has a C-shape around the entire perimeter. When I installed it it started leaking, I removed it and reinstalled it with the same results. I found that the gasket wasn't doing the job, so I used the old one. I wrote to customer service explaining the problem and asking if there was any way I could get a real pad. The woman wrote back directing me to do what I explained in my post and asked her to read my note. She never answered me. It's a little unprofessional.
