I had a pair of Sennheiser HD 558s and loved them, they were stronger in bass but I bought them refurbished and unfortunately they broke. I used my spare Samson SR850 for about 2 months and they were very bright and whistling in comparison but without THAT the difference between them is amazing and I listened to them for less than 30 minutes. They're a bit tight at first, like most new headphones, but they need to be broken in, huh. I've listened to indie pop/rock/folk, some RNB and hip hop and some rap, some Future Bass and kawaii Future Bass (especially Snail's House) and when you change the spectrum it's quite noticeable and opens the headphones more . . I haven't gotten into rock or metal or djent yet so we'll see. Compared to their 558 predecessor, although I've removed the foam in them, the 559 is MUCH more open, a "real" open back if you want. I can hear myself speaking at a low or decent volume, but when the music is on I don't even realize my fan is running. Also, the leakage isn't too bad either, at maximum volume you don't hear the bass that the headphones put out, which means you can wear them on the bus but not in the library. If you're looking for good music, or get these gaming headphones that will let you hear the room no matter what you're doing. I personally use them for gaming, music and video editing and I won't be switching or going back, sennheiser4lyfe.
