Review on Gamepad Canyon CND-GPW3, black by Stanisaw Nader ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is at the level, I am satisfied with everything.

I had the opportunity to compare the Canyon CND-GPW3 with gamepads from other manufacturers, and, subjectively, it performed at its best. It loses to the Xbox gamepad in some details, such as false positives or stick hats. (They are not bad, the centers of the roughness of the cat's tongue, the fingers do not slip off, but it would be better if they were concave. But here I can’t say for sure, the sticks on the Xbox gamepad have been very worn out over 6 years. The stick on the Steam controller is convex, but also traces of use are visible.) It is difficult to compare it with the Steam controller, it is simply different and its management is peculiar. Technically, the Steam controller is superior to both gamepads. Compared to the Logitech F310, it's generally heaven and earth. Logitek's triggers are absolutely hellish. fingers get tired after a few clicks. The management is terrible too. Played Ori And The Blind Forest, couldn't pass the final run even after several dozen attempts. On the pad from the Xbox, I passed the level the second time. That is, everything is so bad with the Logitech pad. In general, I would put the Canyon gamepad in second place in my personal rating. It only slightly loses to the Xbox gamepad, but the Steam controller, for all its tricks, has specific controls (yes, customizable, but the touchpad can not be put anywhere) and it is quite expensive. The rest are sold for some crazy money. Well, the Logitech F310 loses to all these gamepads in everything. In terms of quality-price, the Canyon CND-GPW3 is highly recommended for purchase (if there are no discounts on the Xbox gamepad).

Pros
  • First of all - build quality. The body parts fit tightly. Secondly, the dead zones of the sticks are minimal, at least it feels and visually no more than an XBox One or Steam Controller drop. Thirdly, the convenience of connecting to a PC. I plugged the whistle into the USB port and waited a minute. Windows 10 picks it up right away and without further ado. Fourthly, the connection with the dongle is established immediately after the gamepad is turned on. Fifth, long battery life. After the purchase, I set the minimum backlight and vibration - the charge was enough for about a couple of weeks of not very intensive play. Charging time is average, about an hour and a half from the USB connector of a PC. If you use a mains charger, I think it will be faster. Sixth - design. The pad is light, fits comfortably in the hands, the backlighting of the keys looks interesting. You can assign Turbo mode to any button or multiple buttons. Seventh, the triggers and shifts are very soft, and the fingers do not get tired when they are pressed frequently.
Cons
  • Again, a bit of a design thing. The pain of a perfectionist. The LEDs are strictly opposite the A and X buttons, and a little to the side on the Y and B buttons. You can see them, they shine, but there is a small design flaw. False positives are possible with the D-pad. There is some backlash, because of which this happens. I compared it with the Xbox One gamepad, there, with the same landing of the D-pad, with the same backlash, there are no false positives at all. Although, in fairness, I must say that you need to try to make a false click happen. Kurki. They protrude beyond the dimensions of the gamepad, and on the table the gamepad rests on them. It does not look very reliable, I think, with careless handling, they can break.
