Switched to this durable backpack a few months ago and not another. Really VERY happy with the organization I have. Multiple pockets of different heights are a real winner. The rear laptop compartment is huge, and the tablet pocket is great for my stack of phones working alongside my laptop and a bunch of cables with room for spare. The second compartment is also roomy and holds a bluetooth keyboard, a mini first aid kit, some juggling balls and basic toiletries. I don't really use the compartment covered by the easy access front pocket, but I don't need it. I put an outfit or two there when traveling and it's nice to have this place with no bags because otherwise I would be forced to organize stuff there :) some other little trinkets. The front pocket holds a notepad, pen, markers, wallet, business cards, USB battery, spare headphones, and a few other small items. The inside of all pockets is finished in a gorgeous bright yellow, making it SO easy to find that tiny dumb USB Wi-Fi dongle that would have been lost forever in my old all-black backpack. So yes, REALLY happy with the compartments and pockets here. The loops on the outside are great too, I have carabiners and hand sanitizer holders as well as a few pins/badges on some of the thicker uppers. I still use the NEW YORK Velcro although I'm not from there and don't live now. should replace it. The overall quality appears to be very good. There isn't a single tear or tear to be seen and I (mostly) take this thing with me every day, so it moves around a lot and has quite a lot in it. The zippers are still great. Various straps which I think could tighten everything but I don't use them often although I do tighten the bottom a bit to keep gravity from getting in the way and clumping everything on the bottom. Only annoying are the side pockets. The one on the left (in the picture) has multiple layers, but they're so tiny and thin you'll have a hard time getting inside. I also put a couple of large markers in one, and none of them can get much bigger. The right one is a mesh pocket that you think a water bottle will fit in, but there's no way unless your water bottle is only 1" in diameter lol. It's just not big enough. upside down water bottle - but that would be stupid. So basically don't use it that way. Hang a water bottle on the loop with a carabiner. I use this right hand mesh pocket to store a rolled up poncho and a small vial of sunscreen. I don't see any greater use for this.- a welcome addition to hiking, it's amazing how shifting your weight with it can take the pressure off your shoulders and change your pace. All in all - it's perfect for me. I needed as much organization as it provides which is huge. The construction is very, very good, no problems so far. I would definitely recommend this something insanely more expensive will probably do all you need. you need.
