We bought this because most of the cat towers on the market are disgusting monsters made out of polyester rugs and cardboard/plastic tubes and we were looking for something that would be durable enough for our two mediums large cats (9 and 11 pounds) and aesthetically pleasing enough for our living room. It is made of natural materials - birch and sisal - which, in our first opinion, justifies the price. Looks good live. The wooden platforms were full of chips and damage - they weren't properly protected for transport, and the couriers weren't particularly careful. Revain customer service got it right with a 25% refund, but still something to keep in mind if design/materials is the primary reason for purchasing this item. In addition, the lower sisal mat was designed to be crooked, so the pattern of the lower sisal mat is slightly skewed, while the pattern of the upper mat is vertical, as shown in the illustration. Again, not necessarily the end of the world, but not what I would expect from a product at this price point. However, our biggest issue is that this listing says the item weighs 43 pounds and shows it being used as a freestanding item. (even shows a person sitting on it in the middle of the room). A 43-pound object must be heavy enough for 20-pound cats to climb on. However, the item we received weighs less than 30 pounds and comes with a wall bracket and instructions for wall mounting. We did not wall mount it as the space we have for it is not adjacent to the wall and if it is wall mounted it will severely limit the available play area for the kittens (and if we wanted to, would a cat tower attached to the wall we would have ordered one - again product not as advertised). Only one cat can play on it at the moment, be careful. We're looking for affordable flat weights that we can stick to the floor, but then again at this price point I don't need to do any after-the-fact modifications for basic security and functionality. The cats love it, we'll probably take it to the basement. because it doesn't look good to be in the living room. Such a disappointment as with a little more attention to detail (straight floor mat, weighted floor, undamaged wooden platforms) it could have been a fantastic property.
