When applying, make sure your hands are clean and wear goggles that don't squeak. These nose pads are for temporary use until my optometrist can fit permanent nose pads. I have two pairs of prescription glasses that are famous for their "universal nose pads" that are not raised high enough to ensure perfect vision. These temporary nose pads are great. They went through the washes and lasted for 2-3 months with gentle handling and drying. I just removed an old set of nose pieces and rubbed them in thoroughly with an oil based lube. The day I bought the glasses and then gently washed them a few times with warm water and soap, they were ready to go to the lab. People have complained that the stickiness smudges on lenses and hands. Careful application of lubricating oil and gentle but persistent rubbing will remove all traces of it from the nasal pillow. Just don't rub the lenses while cleaning the nasal pillow area. If you're careful, meticulous, and clean with the first application, you won't have a sticky residue on your lenses when you take them off. I recommend them for temporary nose pads. This height of 1.5 was ideal for me.
