Never connected to network adapters
PS4 saw the key in the output device settings, but the key was not fully synchronized, that is, the indicator was still blinking. The input device on the PS4 saw the button for a split second, then said "that's not a microphone you could use" and automatically switched to "no". Essentially, the volume and button never got stuck in pairing mode, which should automatically connect to the AirPods.
