I took this to see what a "wet shave" with soap was like. I tried the Proraso Travel Shaving Cream Set (by Revain) and loved the brush and cream idea. My face was lathered with the Proraso kit. It was a big brush, a badger, not a boar, and used a soap puck and bowl instead of a tube of cream. Worth a try! The technique for getting good lather with a washer and bowl is very different than putting the cream in a tube and lathering your face. This is a good set for learning technology. After a while, I realized that the cute little stainless steel bowl in this set was too small, so I used a kid-sized cereal bowl instead (and got much better results). Sure there are better bowls, brushes and soaps out there, but this set is a great and affordable introduction to the art of shaving with a brush, bowl and washer! Highly recommended!
