You pay more for HP toners and you should expect them to be better than compatible and more reliable. In general, I can say that this is the case, but my last order showed that the black cartridge started leaking (dirtying the pages) after just a few hundred pages. The cleaning cycles solved the problem for about 50 pages each (but the cleaning cycle itself wastes a lot of toner). My return window had expired so I had to deal with HP support. Pooh. After 3 hours of (really) online support chat, they agreed to send me a new cartridge. If you want us to pay extra, make a backup and don't make it that hard to fix it. I ended up with 4 cartridges that work but they should be better and simpler than these for the money you pay.
