Bought this retractable microphone holder for my fire engine. The mic kept sliding on the dash until I installed it. It was very easy to install the overhead if you can find an existing screw or bolt to thread through the bracket hole. The cable length is sufficient for my application, even in such a large cabin with a considerable range to the radio base station. The retraction force in this particular model is very strong. However, I love that you can quickly disconnect the mic from the cable if you need to hold onto the mic when approaching the stage or working for long periods of time. It also has a break on the return spring to keep the cable at a specified length. I hope this review helps you decide if it's right for you.
