I bought them in September 2019 so it's been a year. At that time I had only been climbing for about 6 months and currently had a pair of Turantulace from la sportiva. I bought them in the store and ended up buying 40.5. I should have gotten smaller. I wear 7.5 inch shoes and sandals. 8-8.5 in sneakers. These shoes were obviously very tight when I first put them on, but they do stretch a lot. I still ride in them today and they are VERY comfortable, but 39.5 would probably be a better choice. I haven't had any stains on my legs and they are holding up well. I climb indoors at least 3 times a week.
