Slightly abrasive but holds less water

I think I like these washcloths. I am not really sure. They're a little different from other tea towels, but that's okay. First let me say they are well made for the price. I have used and washed them several times and they are holding up well. No loose threads or fraying. I can't get enough of their durability. But here's where they're a little different: They're a little rougher and less absorbent than other washcloths I've used. I wasn't expecting this and was disappointed at first but after some use I realized they are great when you have cooked food or when your yolk has dried on a plate or when you want a little extra cleaning power. It's like Dobie Pads dish towels. I don't want to give the wrong impression - they're not as dirty as real Dobie Pads - but if you like washing your dishes with a washcloth, this is just the kind of fabric to reach when your dishes have been sitting all night on the counter and the food is dry. And they won't scratch your non-stick cookware or pans. The downside to this is that because they're not as absorbent, they don't hold the lather as long as most washcloths. It's not a big difference, but it's noticeable. So I'm deducting a star, but only one because the extra sloppiness doesn't really matter. Now that they've stuck with me, I consider them one of the many tools I use for dishwashing. .
