Review on 🎨 ORACAL Oramask 813 Stencil Vinyl Roll Bundle - Low-Tack Paint, 6ft x 1ft with Transfer Paper by Heather Shaw

Works with the right pressure setting, but Vivivid is cheaper and less complicated!

So I was looking for a vinyl stencil that can be cut with Maker for reusable stencils for text on the small succulent pots I make. I wanted to try the Vivivid brand but I got this one because it's Oracal right? They think Oracal is a proven product. Well, I've used a rug from both brands. I wasn't sure about the cut settings and couldn't find the thickness for any of the products so I settled on one. It went badly wrong. Reviews about his rise to porter are true. It wasn't that bad cutting from the roll and I used a scraper to smooth it out, it worked but the pressure lifted the cut pieces and it lifted the whole stencil! Above left is my first run. Of course, these are tiny drawings with a decent amount of detail. vivvid did not have these problems even when the pressure was too high. Deciding not to stop, I paused the cut and changed the material settings to Cricut stencil vinyl, but I lost connection and had to start the mat all over so it could cut over the already cut vinyl. It was a disaster, but once again Vivid withstood my constant attacks! The bottom template is Vivid after all the abuse. However, I decided not to waste it, I tried a new mat, using the Cricut vinyl setting and also changed the pressure to a lower pressure. It seems to have helped, and it turned out great despite all those tiny tweaks (above right). Both brands adhered and pulled off my surfaces very easily (used with concrete and glass) and both prevented leakage under the stencils. Both were also easy to clean with a quick rinse under water, and both worked just as well after washing and reusing. That being said, if you have this it will work fine as long as you can set the correct pressure on your machine. If you're looking for a brand to try, Vivid is a lot better value and a lot less hassle!
