Good! Our 2007 Kenmore Convection Microwave suddenly wouldn't turn on or work with the door open. If you pull the door a little, it will start working, indicating that something is wrong with one of the sensors. This was our first microwave repair. We originally paid over $400 for this microwave and it was killing me to have to replace it. Also, every other microwave oven on the market seemed cheap. Anyway, a screwdriver and a torx driver opened the microwave oven. A few YouTube videos showed how to open the case without removing the entire case, but this isn't our 1.6CF model. There was a screw on the back left, we couldn't get it out, but we were able to lift the case just enough to access the sensor. We were very careful not to touch anything inside except for the part we wanted to replace. Using a flat head screwdriver, pry off the old sensor, disconnect the wires and install the new sensor. Okay, job done and now we're going to screw the cabinet back onto the microwave. Yes, the moment of truth, and we had doubts it would work. Connect and yes it seems to be working fine. I hope this helps someone and saves you some money replacing your microwave. Other reviewers helped us decide to fix the issue ourselves. Thanks also to these people.
