Works very well as a docking station, no complaints. I'm here to comment on something I came across that took me a few months to figure out. I'm using an ATEN 2-Port USB 2.0 DVI KVMP Switch with CS1762A (Silver) cables to switch between a work laptop and a home computer. My KVM switch is based on DVI. It worked fine with my previous dock/laptop because everything supports DVI. With the new docking station I only had DP++ available so I figured it's ok, just buy a DP-DVI adapter. I first tried the Cable Matters Gold Plated DisplayPort to DVI active male to female adapter, but got this constant intermittent noise from the dock when viewing the laptop on my monitor. I then tried the StarTech.com Passive DisplayPort to DVI Adapter - Passive - 1080p - DP to DVI - DisplayPort to DVI-D Adapter with the same results. I tried another dock thinking it was buggy but no change. Since everything but my KVM switch supported DisplayPort, I finally tried a native DisplayPort-based KVM switch. Avocent 2-Port DisplayPort 4K Ultra HD KVM Switch (SV220D). Eureka, there is no more noise, I can work in peace. I couldn't find any other experience with this sound so I decided to share my experience.
