Heats up very quickly, in seconds! This is a big plus. It would have been nice if it had temperature control, especially since I have fine hair that frizzes easily and doesn't need a lot of heat, but it's not like I didn't know that when I bought it. It's great that it comes with a glove to protect your hand and it's very effective. I actually don't like how the end of the cord rotates downwards because with that feature it really wants to fall off the countertop. I would prefer if the cord comes straight out. Otherwise I am very satisfied and would recommend it.
