I've always separated my egg yolks by simply rocking the egg back and forth between the two halves of the eggshell, thinking it would make things easier. on the contrary, this thing seems to take 3-4 times longer to separate the yolks, plus a VERY odd design as it has a little notch that can point down to look at on the rim glass or bowl or something resting, but instead it's facing up (for what functional reason?), so I HAVE to hold it in one hand while using the other to pour an egg in, which is very clumsy and difficult while the egg white once it's here is, it seems to flow out SUPER slowly through the tiny indentations in the bottom, and very often it breaks the yolk before the albumen is completely removed from it. In general, it's better to just use egg shell halves instead.
