I'm the type of person who likes to read the entire manual before assembling anything. That being said, the instructions didn't match what I actually had to do to set the alarm. Not sure if the apps changed the format and didn't print out the new instructions or anything, but if you do read the instructions be prepared that they're semi-accurate. You install the SmartLife and Alexa apps, but after opening the Smartlife app I had to find the watch under "Small Devices", not under "Lights". I spent several minutes trying to connect to a light source (which the user manual advertises) when in fact the alarm clock was in an entirely different category. In the Alexa app it automatically connected to the alarm, so I spent a few more minutes trying to "connect" Alexa to the lamp to no avail as they were already connected. Aside from my frustration trying to set the alarm, we are very happy with the product. We naturally wake up to light before the sounds have died down.
