Review on 🧵 6 Pieces of Similane Aida Cloth 14 Count White Cross Stitch Fabric, 12x18 Inches by Barbara Simmons

Aida napkin #14 arrived yesterday and today I started it. I have previously tried Aida #16 which I already had but found the holes too difficult to find. This No. 14 fabric has a slightly coarser mesh and is easier to work with, even with black yarn. I've read several complaints about the stiffness of the fabric. I don't hoop my work and plan on framing it later so the stiffness helps to handle and frame the fabric. Another complaint I read was about raw edges that wore out over time. This is easy to fix. Just cover those edges with paper tape or duct tape and that will solve the problem. It also prevents the thread from getting caught. These glued edges can be trimmed off after you're done, but keep this in mind when planning your size. In the photo I provided you can see that I drew a grid on the fabric to make it easier to make a counting cross. The color is a washable quilter marker and will fade when spritzed with cold water.
