I'm buying men's shorts for myself, an older woman size 14. The coverage is better, they usually have a more comfortable waist (I have a post-menopausal weight shift where your fat moves from the buttocks to the waist moves). These shorts do it all. They are very comfortable, have a nice drawstring waist, are not designed to show too much, and the price is lower than women's clothing. Sized to fit my waist, they are long but I expected that.
