I need black or brown crew neck t-shirts to wear with the Civil Air Patrol uniform. Due to the Central Florida climate, I was looking for lightweight, quick-drying polyester shirts. Of course I want them to be affordable and of good quality. These shirts meet most of these needs, they are affordable and made by a well-known brand. They are also true to size and fit like most of my XL t-shirts. I ordered a pair in black and prairie dust. Prairie Dust looked like a tan on the internet and also on the printed receipt that came with my package. I know as well as anyone that your expectations of accurate color reproduction across an uncalibrated array of displays need to be kept in check, but the actual shirt on my body right now is a far cry from what I expected. It is green. I would describe it as something between khaki and olive. Actually, I'm wondering if it was a coincidence that they sent me Military Green. The web image for Military Green looks pretty much the same as mine. I just don't want to waste time and money returning something that was so cheap to begin with, especially when I can only get the same thing back. Now I'm nervous about trying to buy Prairie Dust again. I'll wear a green shirt, but I can't wear a uniform. And I still want a tan, but I'm having a hard time finding one made out of lightweight, quick-drying polyester.
