I bought this vest for running and overall I am impressed with the quality and fit. The vest has two main functions: reflective elements for safety and visibility at night and a secure place to stow your mobile phone while out and about. The front, back and side shoulder straps have reflective details to keep you visible from all angles. For phone storage, the entire front of the vest is a fold-down phone case. While it's not 100% waterproof, it's seamlessly welded so it should offer protection from sweat and light rain. The phone pocket folds forward (but stays attached to the vest so you can't drop your phone) so you can easily check messages or switch songs without having to take your phone out of your pocket. The inside of the phone holder is transparent so the touch screen is accessible through the case. Even my fingerprint scanner worked with the phone in a case. The clasp that keeps the phone case closed is a bit tight but I hope it loosens over time, at least it's secure! The cell phone pocket itself has a divider inside which is also a handy place for a credit card, ID or cash. Alternatively, if you're using wired headphones, you can roll up the extra cable and put it in this pocket so it doesn't get tangled in your hands while you run. There are two additional storage spaces on the shoulders: one with a zippered pocket that I use for lip balm, and a second small Velcro pocket that I use for a small bag of saline pills and painkillers, just in case. The Velcro pocket is a little deep making it difficult to get things that slide down, but it's secure and nothing will fall out. It took me a minute to figure out how to put the vest on and off. The elastic at the waist is not removable, only adjustable, so you have to put the backpack on and off by lifting it over your head. While it's not the most comfortable method, it eliminates the need for buckles or Velcro on the sides so nothing digs into your ribs or snags on your running clothes. The hip belt is made from a very strong 50mm elastic and really keeps the vest in place. But my husband tried it, he is 5ft 10", 165lbs and found the fit very comfortable. The materials and build quality were pretty good and the main fabric is perforated for ventilation If you're looking for a lightweight, portable solution to keeping your phone with you (and accessible) while you run, this is a great option!
