I've had numerous issues with my Q7 starting with a dead battery caused by the brake lights not going out. I had to pull the fuse to keep the battery from draining. Here is a list of all the symptoms my car had: cruise control not working, EPC light on dash, push button start not working, key could not be removed from ignition, gear shifting was erratic and finally I was forced to use Triptronic only. I thought I had a serious problem with the car and couldn't believe it was all caused by a faulty brake sensor! I replaced it and all the above problems went away immediately. The parts replacement took about 15 minutes. The only tool you will need is a Torx T-20 screwdriver to remove the panel over the pedals. From there, twist the existing sensor counter-clockwise to remove and disconnect the attached wiring harness. Plug in the new sensor and twist it into place and you're done. The part looks a little different than the factory part but fits perfectly and works like clockwork.
