I wish I had bought it many years ago! My screen door is 28 inches wide and typically 11.875 inches high (internal dimension of the slot). My stationary part is 17.875 inches wide so I had to move the vertical bar that held this part in place, but I knew I had to do this before I bought it. I used metal snips to cut about .125" in height from both pieces. I painted two small screws white and used them as "filler" for the old screw holes as I needed to drill two new holes for the vertical bar .I scratched/scratched the stationery a bit when I cut it out, but overall it doesn't matter as it's a huge improvement for seeing outside and letting extra light in. The thickness of the material is the same as the original white plastic - nominal 0.057 inch.
