Temporarily masks odors but doesn't eliminate them. I work in construction and wear work boots every day and I just needed something that would get rid of the odor when I take my boots off. And it definitely suppresses the odor for about an hour. But when you put your boots on the next morning, you still smell the odor that the spray didn't eliminate.
