I liked the black finish The brackets were too long for my bike: I used them to mount the fog lights. You already have another large hole roughly in the middle of each lamp mount lever. I sawed off the overlong part, sanded and sanded the cut so it had a nice shape, painted the cut surface black with an art brush, and stuck it in the shorter (closer to the fork) hole. The fog lights look great and you have to put your nose right up to the headlights to see the touch up paint.
