I have upgraded my AV receiver and took the opportunity to switch from fiddly pins to banana plugs and was looking for a cheap but good quality plug. I am happy to report that they meet the requirements perfectly. The connectors are designed to ensure a firm hold on standard wire gauges for speaker setups. They are very easy to install (careful - loosen the tiny set screws just enough to clear the wire - removing them completely can get lost in the carpet and they're also a little tricky to put back in). Another nice design feature is that the outer sleeve fits over the top of the banana and then screws into place; This is much more convenient than plug types that require you to remember to put the grommet on the wire before installing the ferrules (then forcing you to disassemble them if you forget to). Banana springs ensure a firm connection to the socket on your device. . You may have to wiggle/press them firmly to install, but this is preferable to a loose connection which can cause crackling, popping, and intermittent dropouts (symptoms I've experienced with weak, poorly made, and/or undersized connectors) . .
