I've spent way too much time learning about toasters but it was worth it because Russell Hobbs is a fantastic toaster. It makes great toast, is easy to use, very attractive (especially in a modern sleek kitchen), the defroster alternative works perfectly and takes up very little space. This jumper is so powerful that the rack literally jumps out of the grooves and almost falls on the counter. So don't risk your hands to remove the bread from the slot. I particularly like that it handles longer slices of bread, which was a problem with my previous toaster. If I were forced to write some negatives, 4 temperature buttons would be more restrictive than a toaster with more buttons or a dial. (Though I know it's harder to get the exact temperature you want with the dial.) Second, the bottom doesn't open fully, so it's possible for burnt bread to get stuck on the edges of the bottom. If your budget calls for a toaster that toasts bread, you can certainly buy something cheaper. But these disadvantages are minor. This is an amazing toaster and if you don't mind paying for a high end toaster I couldn't recommend it more highly.
