I bought these shoes for my 3 year old with Down Syndrome. She usually has to wear orthopedic shoes, but my mum loves her Merrells and swears by them, so I decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did. My daughter can't tell me, but they seem to support her feet and help with ankle pronation, almost as much as a $100 pair of orthopedic shoes. And I got them for less than $10! We love that there are velcro straps on BOTH sides of the top because it helps her learn how to put them on herself. The color is perfect - purple but not so crazy that she couldn't wear it with everything, and they didn't even look that worn out, and she's a tug with a fun walk, so that's saying a lot! The wide width option was important for her flat, thick legs. Very happy! I'll wait for a trade on another pair if it outgrows this one, which unfortunately happens too quickly.
