Comparing four shoes: I tried on the indicated sizes of the four shoes listed below - I had them all at home and compared them carefully. All four shoes were pleasantly surprised that I liked them all very much and the first three were very cheap. The main differences between these black loafer style shoes are slight differences in style and fit. The Geox and Bike slip-ons had crisp heels for a slightly more sophisticated look; others had molded soles/heels. SAS shoes had a leather strap on the front (where dime loafers would have a penny strap). One thing I can't comment on is how they will sit after a few months of use, but I suspect they will hold up well. I'll confess to keeping a copy of each boot - I expect one or two to be particularly suitable, but I can't predict which. Men's Moccasins Rockport Palmer Venetian 12W, 13MComments. loved these shoes. There is a small amount of elastic at the junction between the top and side of the shoe. Leather and fit very good. A little big: I usually have 13M, but it was too much and 12W suited me. Excellent value for money and quality. Comes in M and W but not 12.5.2. Rockport Men's Style Leader 2 Bike Slip-On 12W 13M Comments: I really liked these shoes. The cut and leather are similar to the Palmer loafers, except the boot is taller. As with Palmer, 13M was too big and 12W fitted. You have a longer toe. Men's Loafer Geox New Damon 2 Plain Vamp Loafer 12.5, 13 Comments: I really liked these shoes. Sizes 12.5 and 13 were available but not W. True to size for the most part - maybe a little big. The toe box was flatter and had more room than the other three shoes. 12.5 was too tight so I had to use 13.4. Men's SAS Ace 13M Loafers Narrow 13 12.5W 12.5m Comments: I got these direct from SAS in New Orleans but they are also available from Best Buy. SAS was quick and very helpful - I tried two sizes in one lot and sent them back for two more sizes which were immediately sent as replacements before the first two got back to the company. Since I was sticking with one size, all postage was free both ways (via USPS). I love these shoes too. They are a little tighter but seem to fit very well. This particular style is a little more casual. On the inside there are more arch supports and ventilation holes.
