They work as advertised, but I also used them as insulation for a hummingbird feeder during an arctic blast in North Carolina. The feeder was found by a "stray" red hummingbird in North Carolina. The feeder remained liquid for 2 days if the temperature did not rise above 20 degrees. I brought a feeder and wine cooler at night to keep warm the next day but it's still impressive.
