Bought this 9 years ago and has been great for the most part but there are a few issues that can be fixed.1. It will not stand on its own during use as the air ducts make it heavier and constantly want to tip over. When using the included base, this is not a problem as long as it is installed on the base. Mod #1: JB base welded to main canister.2. The float keeps getting stuck when closed, and when closed the vent valve does nothing. As a result, the float rotted and fell off. Mod #2: Remove the float and modify it with shims and a cotter pin to keep the float open at all times. When the throttle is in the closed position, there is a constant air leak, causing the compressor to turn on unnecessarily. I took it apart and found that the throttle body design was quite Chinese, to say the least. Mod #3: Added built-in air cutoff.4. The hoses are usually worn out and no longer hold on to the air compression fittings. Mod #4: Add clamps to all hoses to secure them to the fittings. 5. The rigid tube, designed for liquid immersion for liquid suction, is about 1/4 inch in diameter, which is normal, but it adapts to the rubber tube through the internal connector adapter, in other words, 1/ 4 inch is reduced to 3/4 inch. 16 inches or less and it clogs all the time. Mod #5: Change the adapter inside out. A few issues, nothing major but issues that can be easily fixed. I still give it a 4 because it works, but I'm pretty frugal with the tool in that regard.
