Does not allow vertical display

I'm in the process of setting up a second display for easier editing. I use a Mac mini that only has an HDMI output, and most USB-C port hubs interfere with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signals, so I had to find a workaround to connect a second monitor. I stumbled upon this product hoping that it could plug into USB 3.0 and save my internet experience and allow me to use my second monitor. Unfortunately, this is where the problems started. What they don't make very clear is that you need to download an app for this device to work properly. OK that's good. I can do it. Great, the program is downloaded and working. So I plug in the adapter and my second monitor lights up. HOORAY! But after about twenty minutes of fiddling, it still won't let me rotate the second display 90˚. We try to change the ports and rearrange the cables. Nothing works. Here's the kicker. After about a year of careful use, the adapter completely stopped working. It sends no signal and is not recognized by the computer. All in all a waste of $50.

Pros
  • βœ” EASY INSTALLATION AND PRACTICAL DESIGN: Directly powered by USB bus without power adapter. The 10 inch pigtail cable offers more flexibility when connecting your HDTV, monitor or projector to USB-enabled devices; The green LED indicates that the adapter is active and everything is connected. *Note.
