First of all, I would like to say that our child is very comfortable to lie on, despite its firmness. It should be so. That being said, it's no wonder kids burp and make a mess. Given the amount you have to wash and take apart I would definitely pay a lot more for something else just to keep it simple. I've taken it apart 3 times to wash the sheets and each time it gets harder to put back together. For example, it takes forever for everything to be straight and clear. Not to mention the tiny zippers they have, and if you squeeze too hard to get foam, they'll burst quicker than the blink of an eye on a stovetop. As much as I love that our baby sleeps well in it, I wouldn't buy it again just because it's so difficult to put together after washing.
