Temporarily absorbs odors

I used XORBX 24 as an air freshener to get rid of the mothball smell that had spread throughout my house. I thought it had a nice fresh scent. However, once the smell dissipated, the smell returned. It's possible that the naphthalene smell is coming straight from my carpeting, but I figured heavier-than-air droplets would also absorb those smells.
