I don't think this can be submerged in water
I consider myself an advanced GoPro user and have had many. This is the first time I use a third party. This replacement seems to fit, but it doesn't attach properly. I don't have to push the button to open the door. Which could be good since the camera is probably in a cage. But I'm not sure about sending this camera to surf.
