Obviously, toothpaste isn't food, so flavor isn't as important as its ability to properly clean and protect teeth, but it isn't. terrible idea to give it a somewhat pleasant taste. What sets this product apart is not that it tastes unusually good, quite the opposite; enough that it influenced the creation of this review to warn others to try another product from Tom's catalogue. I don't know what "fennel" is or where it came from, but it definitely didn't work for me. I've been using Tom's for the better part of the last 8 years and only bought it to try a new flavor but it's pretty awful. Yes, it does the job and my enamel is paper towel white, but it tastes absolutely disgusting. There are many other flavors, spearmint and peppermint are the safest choices, but this is not the right one. stay away and carry on
