I live in the Rostov region, where downright frosts are not often, so I don’t remember ice. Here is freshly fallen snow, porridge, wet asphalt - yes, ours. Here, the spikes simply have nothing to stick into, so I have been using Velcro for a long time. It is quiet, comfortable and economical both in terms of fuel and rubber operation. Specifically, for Bridgestone Blizzak Ice, I can say for a year - with all the surfaces that I drove on, the hitch is good, the car confidently goes along the road, does not wag. On clean ice, perhaps, the spikes will go better, but where does this happen? Either the snow is packed from above, or the road is sprinkled with chemicals. I see no reason to move like a tank for a few days/kilometers of severe frost/ice. After a year of use, the protector has not worn off, there are no hernias. I am happy with the purchase, what I wanted from the wheels, I got it.
