I use these along with some 1 inch dice to tell the time. A cubic inch is like a year. A set of ten of them equals 10 years, plus one or two more to equal the age of sixth graders. Then one of these 5x5x5 blocks will be equal to 125 years and 8 of them will be 1000 years. We can then discuss the ancient world with a better understanding of the time period in question, e.g. B. Ancient Sumer or Egypt as 4000 years old or 4 sets of 8 blocks. The Big Bang 13.8 billion years ago fills the space +. The block is strong, smooth and absolutely what I was looking for.
