Review on Rösle 9-inch Stainless Steel Garlic / Ginger Press with Scraper for Effective Mincing by Samantha Cameron

Well made, but made in China, not Germany

Very solid construction and very stylish design. Heavy weight and stainless steel, nothing can rub off or press into your food. Very comfortable in the hand and very easy to use. Don't worry about getting your hands caught like other designs. All grip surfaces are nice and rounded. Cleans like a charm; The extruder plate flips out to allow easy access either side for water or the main brush. There are no tiny corners to catch small pieces. It also has a "camming" action that seems to reduce the force required to grip it, so those with a weak grip or arthritis shouldn't have a problem. The question arose where it was made. When I received mine, I took photos of a few items; One of them was a label stuck to it. As of August 2017, there is no doubt that this is NOT Germany. See the attached photo - it's definitely China. Another thing that caught my eye; there are no problems with it new, will water get to the handles in the future. See photos. At the moment it looks like there is some kind of "plug" in the seams. Just wondering if it will break down over time. Not keen on water when seated in an enclosed space, then next to food. However, this is a design issue unrelated to where it is manufactured. All this for your information. Have fun cooking; Fresh garlic is MUCH better than pre-diced garlic in a jar! Oh, and I paid full price for it; It's not one of those "you gave me this, I think it's unbiased" reviews that seem to be everywhere these days.
