I had moose steaks wrapped in balls that were frozen like a rock. I grilled them last time and they were good but a bit chewy. I wanted to try them in the slow cooker to see how it was. But I had to put them in the pot by 10 or so to be ready for dinner. I poured some hot water into the bottom of the tray and heated the top with hot water. After about an hour they were so thawed that they fell apart and lay on the floor. After that I repeated the hot water and they were done defrosting after another 45 minutes or so. Normally it would take several hours just to sit around.
